With great regret we had to take the decision to close down the Junkyard Smoke Bloke. We really hope we can bring it back one day when the time is right but, for now, it’s back to London to work proper jobs for us. It’s been amazing meeting and serving you all and we really hope to see you again one of these days.

Welcome to the Junkyard y’all!

At The Junkyard Smoke Bloke we pride ourselves on serving some of the best, US style barbecue you’ll find this side of the Atlantic, out of our redneck style, tiny trailer.

I was a fancy chef for 25 years, but after falling in love with BBQ I felt the need to bring this overlooked cuisine to the streets of the UK. So now, rather than the basement kitchens of London, I can be found out in all weathers serving up delicious BBQ with all the trimmings.

Our food is cooked from scratch, all the meat, rubs, sides & sauces, using fresh local produce where possible e.g our meat mostly comes from Essex farms. We cook the meat slow & low to give you the most succulent, juicy BBQ around, my beef chuck generally takes up to 20 hours. We use oak, cherry & mesquite etc. to give the meats different smokey flavours. My side dishes can be cold & fresh, or, warm & comforting, but all are the best of the traditional Deep South dishes. Everything is served in delicious buns with fresh garnishes.

While meat is most definitely my thing we cater for vegetarians & vegans. My halloumi has won over die-hard meat lovers. Other dietary needs can be catered for upon request.

We have an extensive menu to help you get a bespoke experience, some say too much choice, feel free to email or call us. We care about the environment, so all our packaging is compostible, made from by-products of the sugar cane industry & wood, so even if it goes to landfill it’ll biodegrade.

Most of our private bookings are from customers who stumbled on us, tried the food & spread the word. Come find us at one of our regular pitches if you’d like to try our food before you commit. We’re sure you’ll not be disappointed.
